ot but ugh, i love slow burn and i never get to play it anymore because if you don't rush it people lose interest in you or jump to someone else. fomo ruins everything.

same. i tend to play muses who are a little aloof outwardly, if that makes sense? it feels unnatural to push feelings to develop but more than half the time i've had to adjust to the other mun's pace and end up falling into relationships and not... really remember why they're even in one in the first place...

same here. intimacy takes time for certain personality types, and the pay off is so worth it when it's done right. if you rush them it all feels forced because you're the one making it happen, not because it's how they would do it.

it’s why gpsls with muse caps see a rush of holds and then barely any of them app/play
and so many muses join blind date events only to ditch when they see who they were matched with
and so many top levels on writing memes are made by muses who’d never bother to reply to anyone else first

too many muns go into something with this just in case mentality that something will sweep them off their feet

yeah, they never seem to get that all of those things are what you make them. if you don't put anything into it, why do you expect something amazing back?

tbh it’s probably not a good mindset to have but i assume if no one replies to my top level, that means no one wants to play with that face so it stops me from replying to someone else... but i replied to someone else anyway and they stopped replying to our thread but continued on with their other ones. it might seem stupid, but i was kind of discouraged 😅

the funniest thing to me is when the other muse says they're “not in a rush” and “willing to wait” or “you don't have to say something back right away” but totally are still pressuring yours... 8(

this is why i stick to psls now. in gen, everything is first come first serve and they're so transparent.

that's a good point... i guess it helps that i'm up front about not wanting to rush into things? it's easier to dig my heels in for a psl because i'm not going to 'lose' them to someone else. they'll play with me or they won't and i can try again.

i’ve definitely tried to have conversations with muns about what to expect and still had them ask me to change how i play half-way through... i’ve also had muses “dig their heels” so to speak and had the other muse react by throwing a fit or icing them out or guilt-tripping them, until the line became impossible to play either way.

i think having plot helps the slow burn, so i highly recommend trying something not based in nonau or slice of life for anyone willing to play au

da but this really bums me out too. i've mentioned enjoying slow burn lines that take time to develop with muns and they always seem to be on board, and even when there's promise after some texting and scening, inevitably i always get flaked on.
