i'm honestly very flexible on that front. could be as simple as a summer fling between a human and a merperson? the human is vacationing at a beach, or they're a researching oceanography or marine biology student, or a professional diver etc. it could a little mermaid scenario where one of them saves the other from an accident, or the human is actively searching for proof of merpeople, or the merperson is stealthing on land when they meet. if you want to plot deeper and introduce themes of persecution and environmental exploitation, or if you want to move the setting somewhere more ahistorical with sailors or pirates, i'm down with that too.

so i installed it just now and for just private messaging it would essentially operate just like it did for aim. joining multiple servers at once would not be ideal imo because it opens a new window for each channel, but for a single rp oriented one, i think it'd be good. there's probably also a way to keep it from opening up windows like that but i only have looked at it a little so far.
