There could definitely be a "it's in your head" element to it, but regardless of whether it is or not, it wouldn't make anyone WANT to interact with your muse more if you complain about how you feel entitled to more. Even if you don't use those words, that is how it could be read. If you don't like what you're receiving in one family, then it's usually better to strike out on your own. If you think you can thrive in a different environment, then do that.
