rp is feeling like a chore to me. i still want to write, but i'm no good at writing because i can only write in the confines of rp--i'm not trying to throw a pity party, i've tried writing creatively outside of rp and it is extremely difficult for me, even when it comes to fanfic.

what are you looking for with this then?

to me, rp feels like a chore because i write for a living already. 8( i think at the point you're in, you may want to switch gears to reading instead? it could reinvigorate you.

there's not one author out there who would say writing is easy. lol you just have to do it and try to push through. reading something that makes you excited to turn the page helps me.

yeah i definitely get that, but since i'm not really even gaining like, fun, from it, i'm not really sure it's worth pushing through with. if i was having fun or feeling some kind of emotion other than annoyance with it, then yeah, i might try to just push through.

if you're annoyed and not having fun, maybe you should take a break from it. then you can come back refreshed and see if you feel any different? if you don't, maybe you're just meant for other things now.

i'm having difficulty understanding the problem. you want to write, but feel you can only do it within rp because other forms of writing are hard, but it's starting to feel like a chore so you've run out of reasons to write?

maybe you just don't actually want to write so much as you've gotten used to the idea that writing is something you should like.

i can't write unless i'm writing for rp. but rp (here, at least, where i don't have to learn an entire new lingo, forum, etc.) is a chore at this point. the last half of my comment is just annoyance at the fact that i can't write other ways, because if i could then i wouldn't need to rp to write.

if rp feels like a chore, you need to completely change what you're doing (who you're writing with, the faces you're writing, the type of rp you're doing, etc) or you need to find another hobby because hobbies shouldn't feel like chores.

I second the anon who suggested reading. Read serious books, fiction, self help. Maybe you need to find what you enjoy writing again and reading is one way of narrowing down on it. I also read something recently on how behaviors don’t stem from attitudes but contrarily, your attitude towards things originates from your behaviors or habits. It’s been greatly beneficial in resetting my thinking. If you continue to ruminate in rp, then yes you’ll continue to be annoyed.
