possibly a dumb question, i apologize in advance, but is texting pretty much the custom in a nonau psl? is there no chance to have it scene-based, like it can be for au? whenever i discussed lines that started from a nonau premise, the other muns always considered texting as something obvious and that generally takes up 80% of the line, to the point where i don't even get asked if i want to do it, it just /has to/ be there.

i mean, it's based in real life. people text, and unless your idols are living together, it'd be hard to base it in scene. what are your plans for making it scene based? will all conversations only be in-person?

sa your question isn't that silly, but your assumption that people shouldn't assume texting is involved is. i do have one nonau psl that's been 90% scene but it still involves texting because it's really difficult to convey day to day progression of a relationship that's moving in real time without conversations, because it's impossible to keep up with real life events strictly with scenes. au is doable because the timeline moves as fast as you want it to, but with nonau, you're already only playing catch up.

you do have a very very reasonable point there, my question was indeed silly. i never considered the daily progression that you can't keep up with just with scenes, unlike with what it happens with au. if you don't mind my question, do you keep up with schedules for your nonau psl the same way you do for active play? i guess my frustration with texting also comes with the pressure of having to strictly keep up with all the events, while i thought a psl could be less stressful than active play.

i think people assume it because it's easier to acknowledge real life events as they come, in real-time, unless you're very efficient at scening. but in my nonau psls that start with scening, i usually touch base with the other mun after it ends to ask if they want to start a new scene or text a little first.

the nonau psl in question is nonau but has a plot we're following, so we're not developing it in the way you would typically expect nonau to progress. we assume schedules and they're in the same group and the group still lives in a dorm together, and that's the only reason we've been able to keep it mostly scenes.

i think it would be impossible to scene based for a couple that doesn't live together. i can't think of a way for you to keep it scene based without oocing everything else and that's just no fun. i would talk to your psl partner about being more flexible about keeping up with schedules, because no nonau psl i've ever played has been as uptight about schedules as active play. maybe that's where your frustration stems from?
