it's because au is focused on creating connections and writing, whereas it's easier in non-au to coast on presumed relationships. when most muses are homeless now it's also easier to be busy but in au there are activity requirements.

i'm not a hater, but do you really think in this current version of rp here that it's going to be any different than most non-au twitter feeds or scenes right now? i'm in school anyway i don't need to write about university life. i'd really like to see something that was actually different even if it was as weird a premise as some of the panfandom games have.

you have to make the connections because they're seldom given, that's why plotting was a big part of au. but translating that plot into meaningful relationships took more work.

adding that uni au isn't just tedious for me personally, but greek au glorifies the most superficial, hedonistic parts of it. it can be a lot of fun for some people but just doesn't speak to me.
